Translation of English Hillsdale for Henry Mund, Hillsdale village, Hanover Province, Germany
The 1930 obituary of Henry Mund from Reed City, Michigan, states his birthplace as Hillsdale.
Excellent consultation with Family Search Research Specialist, gave us four clues to check which we have done. Also we have used multiple resources on the Family Search Wiki (meyersgaz, etc.) and the work of Hansen and Meinert to narrow down what might have been the German equivalent of Hillsdale, even considering that the first letter may not be an H. They were Lutheran.
Is there anyone who can help with additional ideas on how to find the German equivalent of the English Hillsdale?

In addition to finding a translation of "Hillsdale" in German, you might also want to look at words that might sound like "Hillsdale" in German.
According to the Stoepel map, there are quite a few "Mund"s in the Hannover (Neidersachsen) area.
Also, do you happen to know whether this is referring to the Hannover area of Prussia (Neidersachsen) or Kreis Hannover (Hannover city and surrounding area)?
Good luck!
