Missionary in Berlin 1899
So my Great GrandFather Andrew Stewart III served a mission in Berlin around 1899. He sent home some pictures and had written about being a Guest on the Earth. Psalms 119:19. But unable to read the German? longscript I was hoping for some help with the detailed writing on the back.
Thank you
Wendy

Here's the transcription:
Wenn Du gedenkst jene Stunde
Wo nie nach Gott weisens Rath
Ins Thie[r]thal uns hier gefunden
Wo ja Bedeutung alles hat
Dann moegest niemals Du vergessen
Dass Du [?] viely[sp] liebte hast -
oft auch in meinem Heim gewesen
Und auch hier viel gelernet hast
Was Du im Leben nach _ _ _ [frommen] hast
Im Dienst fuer unseren ewigen Herrn
Bist [?] aber nie zusammen kommen
Erleuchte Du als Morgenstern
Christine Henney [Henrey? I think the surname is Henney] Berlin Missionarin ge[?] 26 June 1829
The translation will be a bit rough, because the meaning won't be quite the same.
When you consider such an hour
where never Gods wise counsel [is sought]
in the [Thien?]valley where we find ourselves
Where of course all things have meaning
Then may you never forget
that you maybe once had love
often in my home[land]
and also here you have learned much
What you in life should [?]
In service for our eternal Lord
You have never come together
Enlighten as the the Morning star

Thank you for sharing this, its lovely. I am almost wondering if the Enlighten as the Morning Star is a reference to a song. I understood the meaning, but wanted to be sure I caught the full interpretation, sometimes, when translating, some words fit better than others.

@KW3NDY We are so glad you have joined our German community - It is a great place to get help and to help others! We have a lot of talented, experienced participants here.
Most of the time, it is best to use "ask a question" - do this by selecting the arrow to the right of "new discussion". Asking a question allows you to accept the answer or let us know you would like more help. (I was able to change this post to a question for you.)
Be sure to review the links at the top of our community page for some great resources. We look forward to hearing from you. We are so glad you are part of this great community!
Thanks for being patient as we sometimes must wait for a response to come from a volunteer with the needed skill set. It is always good if you include the identification number of the person in question in Family Search Family Tree so we can see the bigger picture.
We look forward to your comments and questions.
Enjoy today! Cindy Jarvis
