My 2nd great grandfather's middle name?
This is clipped from my great-grandfather's baptism record, giving the name of my great-great grandfather, August Werner. It also gives a middle name I can't quite figure out.
It looks a little bit like "Sigfried", but not quite. For sake of comparison, this is how "Siegfried" gets transcribed elsewhere in the document:
Let me know what you think it might be.

Thank you, @PeterWerner3.
That particular column head is asking for the name, status (occupation) and faith (religion) of the father. Most of the records in this column do not include the religion of the father, just name and occupation.
In your record the father is August Werner, and the word that follows is his occupation, which might possibly be "Schmied" = smith.

Hello Peter,
Yes that is the case in the "Father" column which is how I determined that this was an occupation not a name. Some other occupations in this column include: "Instmann" = farmer worker; "Arbeiter" = worker; and "Zimmermann" = carpenter, all of which are written after the name in that column. Note that the other example you provided for comparison purposes came from the "Child" column and that child's three names are "Paul Franz Siegfried".

Hello @PeterWerner3,
Could you post the entire image of the baptismal record please? That way we can compare letters in the snippet to the rest of the handwriting in the record.
FYI: That might not be a middle name but rather an occupation so viewing the entire record would be helpful.
Thank you.

That's a possibility. Does that seem to be the case with the others in the Father's Name column?

I just read Werner August Schmied, and the second, I read Paul Franz Siegfried.
