Where to find this film?
Here is source for info found on AmericanAncestors, citing FamilySearch film: “Germany, Births and Baptisms, 1558-1898,” database, AmericanAncestors.org, citing FamilySearch (2014), FHL microfilm 582892, for birth of Maria Magdalena Schuette, christened 22 April 1759, Bielefeld-Altstadt, Westfalen, Prussia, p. 22402559.
Question is where would I access this film AND is it an index or church record?
Thanks

Hi Bonnie,
Are you a member of the Latter-Day Church? The key above the camera icon possibly indicates that the digitized record is only available to members of the Church.
As to whether the film is available at a Family History Center, your safest approach would be to call the FS Help Line at 1-866- 406-1830 with the film number and ask.

Hello @bonniesamuel1
Here is the link to the Family History Library catalog record which includes film no. 582892: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/162428?availability=Family%20History%20Library
Under the section "Film/Digital Notes" in the catalog record the film you are looking for is the second film listed. This film includes church register records for births, marriages, deaths, and confirmations. The key above the camera icon indicates there are vieweing restrictions on this film.

Hi Robert, Thanks for the suggestion, however, after several tries, I was not able to find the record/index. Kept getting error messages. If I go to the Family History Center, would I possibly get better results?
I do have the "index" found on American Ancestors, but always like to find the original if possible.
Thanks, Bonnie

Hello again Bonnie,
Here is another option:
Since you know the name and the date when the child was born/baptized and the film on which it appears, you could consider using this new request service available at the Family History Library: https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/library-lookup-service-fhl/?mc_cid=281b905a75&mc_eid=35da191d69
I've used this service myself for information from a book and received a response within 10 days of my initial request. Just let them know you would like a copy of the original record.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
Robert
