Can someone translate what is written in this photo?
I have a copy of this image of my 2nd great-grandfather, Johan Schwebach.
I need help in the translation, so I am posting 2 images, as I tried to get a better copy of the text.
I think the top refers to his birth date, location and death.
Thanks,
Thanks again.

In loving memory
Johann Schwebach
Born in Platten, Grand Duchy of Luxemburg, 21 February 1846
Died in Granville, Ia, 5 October 1912
Age 66 years 7 months 14 days
Died, but not forgotten
At last you have overcome
Many a hard, difficult hour.
Many a day and night
You spent in pain.
You endured them steadfastly
Your pains, your plagues.
Until death broke your eye
But you are awake in heaven.

In case this helps, Platten (now Platen) is in the Catholic parish of Bettborn. His baptism can be found here:
bottom right.
Parents are Nicholai Schwebach and Margaretha Busch.

Thank you Kurt. Appreciate the additional information and the record.
In the memory record, would you know what is meant by this? Until death broke your eye?

Kurt,
From the link you provided, I was able to find the Baptism records of all of Johann's siblings.
I think it answered another question too. I see a baptism record for Barbara Schwebach (born Jan. 28 1851). There was a reference in someone's elses tree to a twin (Helen) but I no longer think that is valid, as I did not see another Schwebach in this year.
Thanks so much for the link!

"Bis Der Tod Dein Auge brach" = Until death broke your eye -- that is just a poetic paraphrase of "until you died"

Thanks for explaining the phrase.

I’m not a German speaker, but I would interpret that more like “closed” your eyes.

I think the window has closed on this opportunity, but there was a time that you could obtain Luxembourgish citizenship if you are a descendant of his. He meets the qualifications. Double check with
www.lacs.lu
if you are interested.

Thanks Kurt. I will check, but I think I heard that the window closed.
But I will call them to ask.
