Is there a difference between Portrait photo and Memories photos?

Is there a difference between Portrait photo and Memories photos?

I have seen examples of where a photo is uploaded from the computer as a portrait photo. Unfortunately, I cannot find that photo under the individual’s memories. I have learned to upload photos to the Memories first, then add as a portrait so this is not an issue.

 

However, if another person has uploaded the portrait photo, is there a way for me to find it since it is not found under the individual’s memories?

Wow, I Would like to know the answer. There must be a bug in the program. I think it should be saved in Memories
