A real find here, a podcast featuring Michelle Marchetti Coughlin, author of One Colonial Woman's World. Which features the story of finding Mehetabel Chandler Coit's diary, and her life in the 17th and 18th century. Mehetabel lived in Roxbury, Massachusetts and she moved to New Roxbury Massachusetts which was on the frontier before marrying and moving to New London in Connecticut.
What a coincidence, Martha Lyon (Cass) nee Philbrick lived in Roxbury, and her husband's family moved to New Roxbury in 1686, several of Marth’a son's in law and her own son Ebenezer Cass.
Mehetabel moved to New London after marrying a wealthy ship builder. This is a fascinating podcast and worth a listen for a greater insight into woman's lives in 17th century New England.
