Help, I can't join the FamilySearch Community using a FamilySearch account (includes solution)
Error: When I try to login to the FamilySearch Community discussion boards I get the error "Unable to auto-connect because SSO did not provide an email address".
Obviously, since I'm posting this I figured it out :).
Problem: The problem is that, if you create an account with FamilySearch, by default there is no email address associated with your account.
Solution: With the help of the error message and this webpage I figured it out: https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-update-contact-information-on-my-account.
The problem with that is that there's no obvious way to do it. What you need to do is add an email address to the account. To add an email address you need to use the "Password and Recovery Methods" section. Make sure you verify the email when you receive it in your email address.
