Does anyone in this community volunteer to go to the Salt Lake Center?
I’ve located my gg-father & mother in Scotland. They had 2 children in Scotland before they came to USA. There is a copy of the birth records at the Salt Lake City Center. I was told by a staff member at The center, that the record collection has a copy right restriction that it can not leave that center. Myself or anyone can go there & copy it but it can not be sent out to my location.
The GS Film # is 6035516 ( both children/same GS#)

Although you can, you do not need to go (or get someone that does go) to the "Family History Library" (FHL) in "Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
.
Take a look at "ScotlandsPeople" Web site, a partnership between the "National Records of Scotland" and the "Court of the Lord Lyon" in Scotland.
.
The Index is FREE to Search, once you Register (no charge/for free); and, if you want a copy of a Record, it is a very modest price.
.
Here are the actual References for those two Children from "ScotlandsPeople".

I am from "Down Under" (ie. Australia) and use "ScotlandsPeople" a lot for my Maternal "Scottish" Ancestry.
.
"ScotlandPeople" goes well beyond just Birth, Marriage and Death records.
.
I hope that this helps, just a little.

Try Scotlands' People website. The cost is fairly reasonable. I live in New Zealand and they take about 3 weeks to reach us. Good luck. Louise x

What do you mean they take 3 weeks to reach you?
.
I do not understand!?
.
Those 1866 & 1868 Records (above) that are "Images" of the actual Register Pages, are 'On-Line'; and, Instantaneous (provided you have the "Credits"). You can "Download" or Print" or whatever you like.
.
Are you talking about getting a physical copy being posted to you?

Oh yes. Sorry Brett. That is what I meant. They took about 3 weeks to send my grandfather's certificate to me from Scotland to NZ. I forgot you are able to download and get a copy as your relative from further back in time. But if you want the original copies sent to you they are quite quick as i said.
Cheers.

You can search for the location of Family History Centers (not the Family History in and near Salt Lake City and contact them to ask if someone the go the the Library and look up the information you are seeking. The site for finding Center locations is: www.familysearch.org/locations/

If 'Brenda' utilises the services of "https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk"; as, previously indicated, for a very minimal expense on her part, there would be no need to have any go to the "Family History Library" (FHC) in "Salt Lake City", she would get (both, Printable; and, Downloadable) "Images" of those records she desires.
