Dimissiorales - what does it mean.
I have several records from the 18th century Marriage Index where the Place of Marriage is crossed out and DIMISSIORALES is filled in to the blank. What does it mean? Could it be a church OK for a priest to marry someone outside their district? I did not find this on the word list, since it is mentioned on several records?

This is a good question. Here is the article from the Catholic Encyclopedia, the link to which is off to the right in blue. THis will give you some background on this term.

Ah, I'm a Catholic and I don't get it. Google took me there as well before I asked the question. I read that answer. It seems that maybe the marriage was officiated by a traveling priest outside the diocese he was ordained to operate in, and this Dimissorial letter said he is an OK guy to do this. But since this term is in lieu of "marriage place" that does not seem to make sense to me. I could see that if they had a box that said, "who performed the marriage?" I could see the possible use of this term after the official's name. But as it appears I don't get what they are trying to tell me. Also, since I had several records with this same term for the same location [Echternach], in the same time period, they are trying to tell me something was going on, but I am not afraid to say I'm clueless. Thanks for trying.

I had hoped this article would do it, but it didn't. Honestly, I am not sure why, either. I think this in one of those cases where I would have to see a lot of records in order to be able to formulate a good hypothesis. I am sorry that I cannot be of further help.

Basically you are not far from the pitch; it's a term for marriages uniting two religions.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimissoriale
It is a derivative of the French demission.

U kunt ook vragen stellen in het Nederlands of Frans, het is wel een beetje afhankelijk van wie het leest , of wil reageren of niet.
U kunt ook andere talen gebruiken.

In Latin records, the term "dimissoriales dedi ad contrahendum matrimonium" means that a permit lettre was given to perform the marriage. The reason for this is that the marriage is to be performed in another parish then the one of the bride (or groom).
