It is time to Spotlight another Community Group! We are so pleased to have so many helpful groups.
I asked Ying Chin Lina Wakefield to tell us about the Chinese Genealogy Research
中文家譜尋根
What is the focus/topic of your group?
Our group is a place for people to ask and answer questions about Chinese genealogy and related topics, in both English and Chinese. 這是一個为全球华人提供的、用英文或者中文問答有關中文家譜相關問題的互助平台。
Why should people check out your group?
It is a place for anyone with any questions related to Chinese Genealogy, in any country. Our members are very helpful in providing help because they all have different talents, experiences and expertise in Chinese Genealogy research.
What made you want to form/lead this group?
Because Lena Stout wanted me to. 😊In all seriousness, it is an honor, though I am pretty new to Chinese Genealogy, I feel I can facilitate and lead discussion and start a conversation within the community. Bringing people together is one of the goals for me. I believe we all can contribute regardless of our experiences or lack of it, because we have connections with people from all over the world. And those connections can lead to many more connections and help to hasten this work.
If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
My grandma, so many questions for her!
What do you like most about FamilySearch?
The ability to archives pictures, documents, audio.
What is your current occupation?
Specialist at the Family History Library
What’s one thing (doesn’t have to be family history-related) that you learned in the last month?
Emotional Focus
Do you have a favorite food from your ancestral homeland? Or a favorite family recipe?
Bean Curd Pudding 豆腐花I wish I have a recipe for bean curd pudding, but I just go buy it at the restaurants. 😊 I dislike cooking in any form, hahaha. But here’s a link for a recipe for it, just in case someone wants to try it. Maybe I will try making it too.

This sounds like a fun recipe to try. I am currently in England, after attending RootsTech, so I can't try it yet.
