For some reason the original is in Cumberland County, North Carolina records??
Over the years I've read that men could receive additional land when they traveled back and forth to England (etc.) or when they imported additional family members or servants. I don't know what is going on with this record. I do know that Philemon Cavanaugh, father-in-law to Lewis Davis Yancey, is making a deed of gift to daughter Winifred Yancey in 1732 and that he is in Spotsylvania County, VA as early as 1722 when he is mentioned in a road order.
