though dissapointed that these people havent yet gotten around to digitizing their records - and it seems no sign of that coming . . .

We all march to different beats. I guess we can be glad that they are at least trying to collect them. Digitization is definitely the way to go.

I dont think its so much a matter of marching to a different beat - -
yes - definitely glad they are collecting them - just seems to be some who are much more intersted/capabale than others - in ensuring they are in a format that can be easily shared. - and some people are still stuck in the technological world of 30 years ago.
other isntitutions are stuck in the mode of thinking that if they just provide a list of names - then they can still charge people for the request of making a copy.
like the DAR - who continues to charge for bible copies - instead of just making them avaiolable on line as public domain documents.

I wonder how many people realize that . . . (not that it really make much difference) - just that the descriptions seem so similar - and after all this time of me being in the community - I was still was clueless what the real difference was.
