chances are your own extended family would be your greatest source of info.
have you reached out to cousins, aunts, uncles etc. to see what they know?
can you provide any details (name etc. ) of your grandoparents?

I hope you find some leads.
One of the reasons why this may be blank is that some states had laws against natives owning land. So there are cases where people hid their heritage so the family land wouldn't be taken. This also means many people have native heritage and don't know it. Sometimes they find out and are surprised.
But there are also cases of adoption also. (more positive.)
Do you have it narrowed down to a state and areas to look for this person?
Have you tried looking at census, and other records?
Do you know siblings names, etc and locations? You can try to cross over to other tree areas to ask for more information. This may be useful especially if the other siblings were older and more grown up by the time he was around.

His name is William Henry Spear- b 1892- d 1965- both in Kansas. He had a brother named Alfred Spear.
Have talked to surviving kin with no answers. i looked at 1940 census but there is no mnetion of who his parents are.

You could also delve into the history books regarding which tribes may have been moved to or through Kansas from elsewhere. Then check rolls and lists to see if you can perhaps get first given names and ages to match up with what you currently have. That might prove useful.
