Name Requirements for Sealing to Parents v. Sealing to Spouse
I am looking at a family where dad, Herr Eier (LCN5-12N) and mom, Heimer (LCNR-76J) have been sealed to each other. However, their children cannot be sealed to them due to a need for more information. The description in the ordinance window states: "This person has a title and last name but no first name."
I am thinking that Herr meaning Mr. in German is the need for the change. However, I was curious of two things. 1. Why were the parents still able to be sealed to each other with the title in the name and no first name? 2. Am I correct in that Dad's first name is what is needed in my research?

The ordinances were done for this persons before 2012 (when the Family Tree started). Try removing the title of "Herr" from the father's name - it does mean "Mr". See if that will allow you to reserve the child's SP.

Originally; as, from "New.FamilySearch" the predecessor to "Family Tree" ...

In answer to you SECOND 'Question' regarding "First Names" ...
.
'Yes', that would help; and, certainly be preferable; but, is still NOT mandatory for "Temple" Work ...
.
Now ...
That said ...
.
For some 'light' bedtime reading ...
.
Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':
.
What information is required to do temple ordinances for my ancestors?
.
In Family Tree, what does "Needs more information" mean?
.
What words and abbreviations cause "Needs more information" to appear?
.
How do I format names to avoid the "Needs more information" error when reserving ordinances?
.
I do not know the exact date to put in Family Tree
.
Do I Need Exact Dates to Perform a Person’s Ordinances?

I hope this helps
