I do not know who their parents are. I was given bad information by a Parrish in Scranton,Pa I know it is not Michael and Mary Brennan after looking at a 1890 Census. The Census reported too many children. I am only looking for Elizabeth, Margaret and Anna Brennan and their parents who lived in Scranton, Pa.

I've attached the death certificate for Anna O'Shaughnessy. I am sure this is the correct Anna as her place of burial is in New Jersey. Notice the father's name is James Brennen. Also I noticed on Elizabeth's marriage she is listed as born in Schuylkill County. I am still looking.

Possible death for Margaret McClain in 1921. Father is listed as James Brennen and mother's maiden name as Flanigan.0 -
1870 Schuylkill County census shows James and Margaret Brennen with numerous children one of them being Margaret who matches the age of Margaret McClain in the above death certificate. The 1880 census shows the same family. Margaret is no longer with the family and she is old enough to be out on her own. Elizabeth and Anna are listed with the family and their ages do match the two you are seeking. Also notice there is a Flanigan family listed below the Brennen family and that may be the maiden name of the mother. based on this little bit I believe James Brennen and Margaret Flanigan are the parents of Elizabeth Brennen.

Unfortunately the Margaret Brennan McClain I am looking for lived in South Philly and had two daughters that attended Hallahan HS in Philly and played on the basketball team during the 30’s . I have not been able to look through any of the year books due to this Pandemic. Another problem with the school probably closing at the end of the year, I do not know if I will find out their names. Oddly enough
they lived in a section of South Philly called Schuylkill, but my only remaining aunt from the Green Family does not remember the street or address. Thanks for you suggestion though.

Thanks Tim. It looks like you found some long lost information. This information on Annie is correct. My mother visited her grave in Cape May County. I had asked some one on Ancestry about Aunt Annie ,but thy never responded. Now I have something to work with. At one time I thought the parents were a Michael Brennan and Margaret Cassidy but I did an 1880 census and they had too many children . Now I will research James Brennan and Mary Flanigan. .. I no longer have Ancestry because I was not getting anywhere. Maybe I will check with Family Search to see
if they have any info that I can follow up on when the Marlton Library opens with their computers. Thanks again. Ted Shearer 856-983-3798

Tim I am confused after looking at the 1870 Census I see James Brennan age 35 and Mary 35 ,but then Margaret 11 and a Mary age 7. This would be saying that Margaret was born in 1859 . I never heard of a Mary ,Lizzie was the next child born in 1871 and then Anna, 1873. Is it possible that there is another James Brennan and another Mary Flanjgab.. did you get a chance to see the 1880 Census because Elizabety(Lizzie) would be on that. It’s all confusing. If you. I've attached two more documents for Alice (Brennan) Campbell who was a sister of Elizabeth and Anne Brennan. Notice in the death record the parents are James Brennan and Margaret Flanigan. Also, notice in the obituary that Alice's sister Mrs. O'shaughnessey is living in Philadelphia. Mrs. O'Shaughnessey would be Anne.0 -

about one Margaret Brennan McClain’s daughter’s . I previously said that a aunt told me she had two good basketball players who went to John Hallahan HS in Phils. You responded to me that you found one of her daughters, Mary, who at age 14 was
working in a mill as a spooler. I have. Been unable to fin any Census on John A. Mc Clain or his wife Margaret and their children. John died in 1895 and Margaret did not passed away until 1936. Could you tell me the Census that you referred to his daughter as already being employed . Thanks again for the help you have given me. I am slowly by surely getting the Family Tree together.
