Farmers had numbered houses too. The vast majority of people were peasant farmers--and that's the occupation listed for the father on Istvan's baptism record.

I have gone through each of the available church files till my eyes crossed, slept and tried more the next day. I guess I have come to the "Great Wall!".
I have to tell you how wonderful you have been to help me at least get one generation in for my Brother In Law a very sweet man. His children all have children and while he wrote what he knew, he had no back up information. I have just gotten back and I am ready to help write his story from what we have found. Your help was invaluable!

Caroline Kokavec does not appear in the Roman Catholic records but you could search surrounding years: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GTMW-WDL?i=86&wc=9P3B-HZ3%3A107654301%2C141660101%2C141783301%2C141798301&cc=1554443. I think Caroline is an Americanized version of her name. Maybe it would be Katalin. Her given name could be completely different. Search for the surname Kokavek.

The name could be Stephanus instead of Istvan. It is a form of Stephan. I have seen one Istvan as a given name.

I have seen Kozarovce, Garamkovasci as well (on his immigration) The name changes by the occupying surrounding countries had to have been so tough on them!

Marriages usually take place in the parish of the bride. I see the maiden name of Veronica as Pancsuha. The s is similar to the s in Bencsat in the line above. But I am not familiar with Slovakian surnames. Also, note that she has a cross in her entry which probably means she died young. House 71.
