I am looking for my wife's Great Grandpa. We have, what we believe is a copy of his birth certificat
He was born, we think in February 1894 Guiseppe Marzullo. The rip is right down the middle. We don't have any information on the parents or siblings.

This is Giuseppe Marzullo's birth in Gioiosa Marea on 21 Feb 1894. Father Nunzio Marzullo, 38, farm laborer, mother Caterina Boragona.

Hi Peter, because you were so specific, I was able to quickly locate the birth record in the comune of Patti/Gioiosa Marea. I have a downloaded copy of the birth record from the CIVIL records. You are very lucky...most of the 1800 records for that locale are available on microfilm (some villages' images in Italy only go back to 1866). You are even more lucky....the 1866-1910 records are not restricted so I was able to locate it while checking from home (FHCs are closed). Anyway, father's name was also Giuseppe, mother's name was Carmela Calabria...record is dated 1st of April BUT he was born 28th of March. Father's age at time of birth was 43. I am attaching the record.....you are able to access this locale's records as well if you need additional records.

Thank you very much. I have been looking through the records without any luck. When there are a lot of the same names and close to the same birth dates, it's difficult.
