I'm looking for any information on the Nicco family from Donnaz (Valley d'Aoste) Italy.
Sandra Nicco passed away in January 1992 in her home town. She never married. She worked in Geneva Switzerland. Her father was Martino Alessandro Nicco. She had a sister Aurora Nicco who married.

Mary Beth,
Since the Valle d' Aoste region is not divided into provinces (since 1945) there is no provincial capital to search for records. Can you provide more information about this family? For instance, do you know how old your cousin was when she passed away? Family Search and Ancestry both list her sister as (Private) in family trees. This usually indicates a living person. She may still be alive and could give you some information, if you can find her. Nicco is the third most common name in Donnaz so they are going to be difficult to trace without more dates. http://italia.indettaglio.it/eng/valledaosta/donnas.html
I did find an Allesandra Nicco born 19 Nov. 1937, died 1 Jan 1992. Could this be your cousin? The record indicates she was born in Donnaz but died in Torina, Peidmonte, Italy.

Hello. Alessandra Nicco, she went by Sandra, was my biological mother. I was told she died January 31, 1992. I don't have much information but her father, my grandfather, was Martino Allesandro Nicco. Sandra also had a sister named Aurora Nicco. Aurora married and I do not have her married name. Supposedly she lives in a small village Pilote but I have not been able to locate any such village. I am not aware of any cousins I have but it could certainly be possible.
Sandra worked in Geneva Switzerland for an American family, I don't have any information on them, and I was born in Geneva where I was put up for adoption. The little information I have is through the adoption agency. Thank you for your help.

I'm not sure how to use the website you sent. I can't locate either parish on the internet. They do not have contact information.

I use this website to look up provinces and regions. According to Italy Magazine Ivrea, where your biological mother passed away is a Village-Commune-Episcopal See within the metropolitan area of Turin. Since it is a See, I wonder if it has an Episcopal Chapel. I am still looking.
How frustrating this must be for you to have just enough information to begin a search and not enough to get anywhere with it I know there has to be someone in this group who can help you. I am hoping they see your post and respond.
I did find that there is a Catholic Chapel called the Church of San Bernadino in Ivrea also. That might be a place to write for records. If your mother passed away there, perhaps a burial record might contain additional information. this link may be helpful: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Italy,_Torino,_Ivrea,_Civil_Registration_(Tribunale)_-_FamilySearch_Historical_Records

Thank you! You have been very helpful. I did write to several of the churches in Turin. I sent a text and sent them in Italian. Will I hear from them or do I have to write?
It is a little frustrating since all I can find is information on my biological mother who is not longer alive!

On the Civil Registration website it says to "Start by finding your ancestors in the index" I am not seeing where the indexes are?
