Brett, thanks for your answer. I should be able to find what I'm looking for in the list you provided.

Brett has provided a good list on source handling in general, but here is a summary of what I do:
1) When I've found a source in Ancestry.com, I first go to the FS site and see if I can find the same Historical record there. Occasionally I can't find sources that ARE in the FS databases but the search tool is just inadequate to find it. When I've found it in Ancestry, the details from the record can make it easier to find in FS. If their is an incorrect indexing of a name, sometimes Ancestry can find it when FS cannot, even though it might already be in the FS database. IF available, I prefer to use the local FS sources over Ancestry sources because of the frustrations it can cause for people that work primarily in the FSFT.
2) If you have a church account in Ancestry, you can attach the source to the person in the Ancestry tree and then sync it to the FSFT.
3) By far the easiest, if you just go to a page in your browser that you want, you can run the RecordSeek bookmark which will create a source and attach it to whoever you wanted it on in the FSFT. See https://recordseek.com for how to set that up.
BTW, RecordSeek can be installed as a Bookmark or a browser extension. When they started doing the extension that adds a button to your browser it didn't work so well for me so I continued to use the bookmark. They may have improved the extensions part of it by now.
