Boa tarde todos. Eu quero encontrar a minha bisavo Maria da Conceicao Agostinho. O certidao do nascimento da minha avo declara que ela nasceu em Olhao, Faro em 1909. Mais eu precure os livros de bautismos desde 1900 ate 1920 em o regiao de Faro e nao vi nada! Eu fiz um teste de DNA e dize que tenho muito sangre dos Acores. Entao, pode ser que ela nasceu ali. Alguem sabe onde posso encontrar os livros do bautimso dos acores? Obrigado! Joe
Hi all, I am trying to find my great-grandmother Maria da Conceicao Agostinho, my grandmother's birth certifictae syas she was born in Olhao, Faro in 1909. However I have searched the archives in all of Faro from 1900 to 1920 and I coudn't find her. I did a DNA test and it said I have lots of blood from the Azores Island and so I thought maybe she was born there, so I want to search their baptism record. Does anyone know where I can find them? Does the birth certificate of your grand mother provides any other interesting detais such as the exact date of birth, the exact date of baptism, the baptism parish.
Did you tried to find their parents in Faro?

You need to write to the records office to ask for any record after 1905-1910.

If your grand mother was from Olhão, you need to look online for the freguesias of that district and not for all Faro. Today they are 4, but they used to be 5.
The major one is Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Olhão or only Olhão and then you have:
Moncarapacho, Fuseta ( today these two are only one freguesia), Pechão and Quelfes.
A grand part of my ancestors are from here and sometimes they went from one place to another. This is common is small areas like this. So try and see you can find her here in tombo’s records online:
