Palermo Tribunale docs: missing nati records for 1888, Ufficio Primo?
Hi everyone!
I'm searching for the birth record for Francesca Paola Adamo, which according to the "Nati, indici decennali" (1886-1895, A-K) records I found on the Antenati site, should be located in "uff. 1 - v. 243 - n. 2257." Her birthdate is 25 September 1888. Screenshot attached.
I searched in "Italy, Palermo, Palermo, Civil Registration (Tribunale), 1866-1910" (Province of Palermo, Comune or Frazione of Palermo) and then in Nati 1886-1889. The Film Number is 1963659
and the DGS is 7102120.
I saw, for example, that the film has scans of birth records for Ufficio Primo for 1887 (screenshot also attached), but not for 1888. I looked at the Wiki to see if there was a known issue with this film, but I didn't see anything.
Does anyone have a suggestion of where else I might look? Or, could it be just that the scans for that Ufficio just aren't available?
Thanks so much in advanced for any insights you can share.

Sometimes it may happen that the records are mis-recorded or mis-placed.
As a alternative you may try browsing through "Images" https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/
It can be quite a cumbersome task, especially for a large city like Palermo, but in genealogy you must have patience!
PS: same advice there: most records will be in geo or chrono order, HOWEVER, this is not always the case....

Hi Paolo,
Thanks so much for your response! I’ll try searching the images through the link you sent. I’ve found other documents through “brute force” browsing, so hopefully it’ll work again this time!
Best,
Erika

hi Erika,
It's funny that I have also sometimes used the same expression "brute force"!
I tink I got it from the Alan Turing's Enigma story, which I found really amazing!
Did you get inspired by it, too?
Ciao

Hi Paolo,
I apologize for the delay in responding! Turing's story was amazing! I'm not sure exactly where I got that expression from to be honest!
Hope all is well!
Ciao,
Erika

In Italy we just starded a second lockdown - not as strict as last spring, but still annoying, though necessary.
However, at least for our family, so far so good..
What about you?
BTW did brute force work in your case?
Ciao
Paolo
