I'm searching for my GGFather, Charles Hamilton Davis, b. 1820 Mahatten, New York, New York; d. 1874 Bell county Texas; married Harriett Jane Robertson/Robinson, 10/10/1850.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

What would you like to know about him? Do you have his parents?

That's part of the problem, I don't have and can't find a clue as to who or where his parents were or are. He was born 8/19/1820;He and Harriett had eight children: Minerva Jane (7/19/1851), H. E. (1853), Alexander Hamilton (5/13/1855), James Bascom (1/24/1858), Perry (1866), Annette (2/25/1869) and Clara Ann (2/26/1864). I have pretty well found all of their children; Have found Harriett's mother, but am now sure I have found the rest of her ancestors.

Hi Leo. I also looked at him on FamilySearch. I haven't found his parents yet, but I believe I may have found his wife's mother living with them in the 1860 census. I have attached the record to him and his wife on FamilySearch. It is Elizabeth Robertson, born in Alabama. She is the right age to be Harriet's mother. I will look to see if there are other Davis's living around the same area. He is listed as Wm C Davis, but if you look at all of the initials to his wife and children, they are the same, and they are living in Houston as well. Lmk what you think.
