Looking for information on my family
I am looking for information on the Kovarovic family. I know my history after the United States. Just curious where we came from. I met someone in the military that said his family were good friends with my family over in czechoslovakia. I am looking to reconnect and find more info about my family history, and perhaps my family crest.

Congrats on being Czech. All of the records are kept on a parish level. Finding a place of origin is crucial. Thorough preliminary US research is where you will hopefully find this important info. Tell us all about your immigrating couple please. Include names, dates etc. And any US sources you have already found. We would love to help direct you in your research.

My second great uncle, Joseph Vaskovsky, married Marie Kovarik in Czechoslovakia in 1879. Her father was Mataus Kovarik from Lhoty, District of Trebon. They immigrated to Chicago, Illinois in 1881. I don't know if that is your line or not. Check on Family Search for Marie Kovarik L8W2-5B3 to see the Illinois census records. Maybe you can determine from them if it is your family. I hope you can find them.
