Do you have any cell phone messages, from someone that has passed away, that you could upload to their Memories page, so that you can still hear their voice.
You might consider doing this yearly in your birthday month. This will be a wonderful treasure for posterity.

Wow what a good idea. Just need to figure out on how to do it. I'm feeling technically challenged of late. Always had Jack (my better half) do these things and he's been unable the past couple of years to help when it comes to computers.
I have several tape recordings and Super8 videos of us interviewing relations who have since passed on. I used these recordings to transcribe what they had said. It even helped on identifying photos. We took hundreds of pictures out of old photo albums while the owner of these talked about them. We were in Colorado and rather than trying to remember everything during the visit I was able to get home and make sense of everything because of recordings.
I would suggest to other researchers to get hold of their oldest living relatives as soon as they can and record their information. All the people I contacted 20 years ago are now deceased. Some died within 2 years of contacting them. Their information would have been lost had I not made this effort. I have been blessed to have all this information.
Sometimes with computer technology we lose something by not talking with our relatives and hearing their stories. I believe it is very important to do this. I would have known nothing about my dad's childhood without talking to his sister and aunts. I have tons of pictures and stories of life on the Homestead in Colorado. Even learned a bit about myself in the process.
I had this memory of milking a cow with some red headed lady. So when we went to Colorado we visited a home I definitely remembered. Wow, it was where my 2nd cousin showed me how to milk a cow. Everything was coming together with my early memories.
The sad thing is that my grandfather lived in Grand Junction, CO when I lived in Salt Lake City. The last time I had seen him was in 1962 in Colby, Kansas. In 1985 we were only 5 hours apart and I had made several trips to Grand Junction never knowing he lived there.

You have some fabulous saved memories. It is important to get them digitized before the old media types lose the data. Do you have any descendants that could help you with this? You might be surprised at the capabilities that youth have for figuring this stuff out. You can also take videos to places like Costco and have them converted to a digital format. You might ask around and see if you have any friends that have equipment that is designed to copy other media.

My dear husband (Jack) has come to the rescue. He found a place in Waco who transfers data - now just need to sit down and go through our collection and get it done. So Even though I not sure he's all there, he does come through! My calling is a blessing to both of us.

I think that all of us cannot do everything, but each of us can do something. I am happy that he can help you with this part. You are very lucky have this collection.
Did anyone else check into how to copy old media and come up with any good ideas that they might want to share?
