My name is Dennis Yancey. I live in Miami, Florida. I am interested in gathering together all Ancey Faily Researchers in this community to discuss all aspects of Ansley family genealogy and history.
Some Ansleys have a YDNA match to the Yancey family - and thus one reason for my connection.

Linda (Hopkins) Michael, currently live in Frankfort, Indiana. My g-grandmother, Ethel Weston, had been a MAJOR brick wall for a couple decades until 2015 when an acquaintance helped me break down most of it . It appears Ethel Weston was not her given name but rather her adoptive name. She was actually Effie (Ethel) Lorette Ansley (Ainsley) and a member of the Ansley family rooted in Pike County, PA. I have posted my synopsis of her life and connection to the Ansley family on FamilySearch.org :
It is too long to retype here. I'd really love to find out more about Effie's parents, Marcus Ansley and Amelia Bennett; what their relationship was, if and when they were married, and why Effie was not entirely raised within the Ansley family. It seems Marcus died quite young in 1875 when Effie was an infant. For whatever reasons, Effie was not raised by her mother Amelia and was eventually given to William and Susan Weston to raise. Amelia went on to have 3 other husbands that I could find and as far as I know had no further contact with Effie.
