Looking for Relatives in Oliveira do Hospital, Coimbra Portugal. Trying to find great grandparents.
I am searching for my great grandparents (and any ancestors) on my father's side. My grandfather Antonio Nunes Figueira born 24 MAY 1906 in Oliveira do Hospital, Coimbra came to the US at the age of 14 with another passenger I do not know Maria Conceicao Nunes (age 17). (not sure of how they are related). I have been unable to find any information beyond my grandfather so any information is helpful.

The passenger registries from that time period were usually 2 pages in length. If you look on the 2nd page (continuing along the same line) it should include the name of the individual's family in the home country, often a parent. The woman traveling with your grandfather may be a sibling. It was not uncommon at that time for daughters to take the mother's surname and sons to take the father's or some combination of the two.
