,2. his parents ( Fishel and Rose Plotka ) birth birth and death location.
My grandfather was Israel Plotka born March 1872 in Russia. He immigrated to America with his older sister Sima Rivka Plotka( b. 1853 )and her husband Mordechai Applebaum and their children Sophie, Charles, Archibald ( the children were born in
Zincov, Russia. ) Israel passed himself off as his sister's son. They all took the surname SILVERMAN. when they came to USA...Rhode Island.. They came about 1887 to 1890. Looking for: ship's manifest. So , Israel was now known as Israel Silverman.
My g grandparents were Fishel and Rose (Pepper) Plotka.. I think Fishel was an egg dealer in Russia. .unable to find exactly where they lived or died in Russia. Any ideas?

Yes, Jewish roots is an excellent website. I've received a lot of help on the forum there. The site is in Russian, but it can easily be translated into English using Google Translate.
jewishgen.org is also a good website.

I belong and use JewishGen.org, Have not found my Plotka roots. One cousin has our Plotka tree on JewishGen.
I went to Jewish Roots, but did not see how to translate into English.

If you are using the browser google chrome, right click anywhere on the page and press translate to english. If you do not have google chrome, go to http://translate.google.com. Change the languages to translate from Russian to English. Paste the URL of the Jewish Roots website into the Russian box and then a new URL will show up in the English box. Click on that and it will take you to a translated version of the webpage.
You might also try posting a question on the Jewish gen forum. You can get some good specifically Jewish help there.
