I am trying to figure out the town of this person's birth. It is number 100 for Marianna Szamarzewski. These are from Poland but written in Russian. Thank you in advance.

To me, it looks like Старiй Ольшине. It's in prepositional case, so it could be a masculine or feminine ending on Ольшине. In Polish, this might look something like Stary Olszyn[?]. I found a town that's called Stara Olszyna that is located near the parish, Młodojewo, that this record is from. I'm guessing this is the town you are looking for

In this case, Jozefa is female. Grammatical cases with an "a" on the end can be a bit confusing, so one of the best ways to determine the gender is to look for the keyword of male or female. I'll attach some screenshots below with the highlighted keywords for you to look for.

Should I stick with the double dates or just use one date? Which one? I have a few more of these records that I need the dates figured out. Dates can be confusing! This handout might help you with months and numbers:
Sometimes it helps to write the word out yourself over and over, that always helps me to get it to stick in my head.
As for recording that dates, I would go with the Gregorian date (that's what we use now) and then in the notes section put the other date.

Some of them said "yesterday" so I just calculated the dates using the registration date at the beginning.
