Translate the Death record of my Great Grandmother
Please give me all names, dates, occupation, basically the whole record. I see the names of parents who died before my grandmother but I can't make it out. It's very important I know her parents name. Her father should be Antonio Vito, but please verify that. I really need is her mother's name. This is an important document I have been searching for. This will help me piece together the missing puzzle.
Thank you! I can't to find out what it reads.

Hello!
I'm going to try, but the handwrighting is a bit difficult to interpret.
So, Margherita Addolorata Martellotta died on the 11th January 1927 in the house placed in "contrada Coreggia" -that is a "frazione", a part of the municipality of Alberobello (BA)- at the number 820. She was aged 73 years old (or 72, it's not clear) and she worked as a farmer ("contadina"). She was born and lived in Alberobello.
Her father name was, as you said, Antonio Vito, a farmer, and her mother's Angela Burro.
She was unmarried ("nubile").
What is left in the document is about the witnesses to the death.

Thank you for translating!!
The mothers name could it be Angela De Caro? I know on her birth document it is. I was hoping its the same person.
Does it state the reason for death or any more information?

Yes, I think it could be De Caro. My guess was a stretch, but it seemed just one word and not two 😅
And no, there's nothing about the cause of death or anything related, just the witnesses name, age and occupation.

Thank you so very much, too bad the handwriting was not clear. I appreciate it.

Forgive me, I have a pretty poor memory, but I remember asking my Italian cousin who is a doctor working in Rome and Isernia if there is a way to research the cause of death of a person. I had an ancestor who died young and wanted to know if it was an accident or disease. I remember that he said something to the effect of once authorities in Italy rule out homicide, they do not keep that information. What I remember for sure is that death certificates do not list that information.

Thank you Marie for the information.

Hi Carmen,
Question: Margherita Addolorata Martellotta unmarried (nubile) or was it her mother Angela De Caro unmarried?
Maybe both unmarried! Could you please tell me for sure, thanks.

Hi! It was Margherita Addolorata that is referred to as unmarried. In the act the marital state of the dead's parents isn't mentioned, just the dead's.

Carmen,
Thank you for clarifying for me, I should learn my Italian language, I wished my father spoke the language to all his children so it became second nature. It's never too late to learn though.

Good luck with your learning!
Until then, just ask if you need any help!
