Wikipedia defines Memorial Day as: Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning the military personnel who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The holiday is now observed on the last Monday of May, having been observed on May 30 from 1868 to 1970.

This is a wonderful idea @Carolyn Webber. I've been going through my grandfather's Navy memories. I even have his school yearbook for his time spent at the US Naval Training Center in San Diego. It has been very fun and interesting. Hoping to get my photos and scans this week.
