Hello and good morning!

I am doing this class again. For those of you who missed it during Rootstech in February and the webminar in March, this is the same class I am repeating on May 18th. Feel free to pass this info on to people who you think might be interested or can benefit from it.
Topic: Chinese collections and resourses in FamilySearch
Time: May 18, 2020 11:00 AM Mountain Time (US and Canada)

Perhaps for those of us who don't know who you are or what you presented, it might be helpful to post a title, a brief summary of the class, and possibly some links to prior showings (if posted already).

Thank you. I know someone who is interested!

Thank you for this. Is the instruction going to be given in English, or in Mandarin, or in Cantonese? We have people in this area who could use this training in any of those languages . Thank you.

Awesome! Spread the word!

English. I also speak Mandarin and Cantonese. We will also have helpers during the class to answer questions in the chat box. They can answer in English, or Mandarin。

@Lina Wakefield I edited your post to share it in our events group as well as the Chinese Genealogy Research group. This looks like it is going to be a wonderful resource for so many! Thank you!

Was your presentation recorded? I have a lady in my stake from China. She is having great difficulty doing her research here in Louisiana.

Thank you for today's talk, it was quite informative! I've been using FamilySearch since late last year, but you shared entire sections of the site that I wasn't aware of.

YAY!!!! Thank you for coming!

Thank you, Lina. That was really useful, especially on how to find resources for people who don't speak/read Chinese.

@Vic Walker Thank you! Glad you were able to join us.

Nihao, Vic (he's a really nice guy! I used to live around the corner from him).
Vic, I'm intrigued by your comment regarding people (like me) who don't speak/read Chinese being able to find resources. Could you summarize what types of resources? (I'm a T&FHL in my ward, so I'm interested in hearing about that.)
I had to work, so I wasn't able to attend the conference, but honestly, wouldn't have thought to as I don't know Chinese.
(just... forget that Nihao thing at the beginning. Vic taught me that years ago, and that's ALL I know. I swear!)

@Justin Masters For Chinese Genealogy, it really depends on how far back you want to trace it. If you have people here in the US want to find out about their ancestors who came to US, they can contact NARA.
But if they want to go beyond that, to trace it back to China, they have to have the last name and if possible the first name in Chinese, and also the name of the village they came from.

Are you going to offer this class again? If not, are there resources you can suggest from your class?
