I am reading the ship manifest (ship landed at New York May 5, 1923) for one of my relatives. One of the column headings is "Marks of Identification". I'm looking at line 19. The typed answer is "Tatewed r. arm". Do you know what that might mean?
Obviously there is some kind of mark on the right arm, which is not necessary information for genealogical purposes. I have all the pertinent information and this is just a curiosity.

Thank you for your help. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Just asleep at the wheel, I guess.
