Multiple Spouses symbols
It is so confusing that the multiple spouses symbol does not appear on the person with multiple spouses. For example: If my grandfather had multiple spouses and my grandmother did not, the multiple spouses symbol should appear on my grandfather, not my grandmother. However, now the symbol shows on my grandmother. Does that make any sense? She did not have multiple spouses. So, why should she have the multiple spouses symbol?

You asked this exact question last month. I would refer you to the answer I posted then.

Here's something to consider in favor of the way it works now. As you'll recall, I described the current thinking in this way: "The multiple spouses icon is shown on the person that has multiple options. Clicking that icon lets you see the people that can take that position."
Now consider the similar question for a case where a person has multiple sets of parents. With the current design philosophy, you put the icon that indicates multiple parents next to the parents that can be replaced in the tree by another set of parents. That is very doable, as is displayed in this image:
But suppose we try to extend the other philosophy that you favor for spouses, to now handle parents. Where would you place the icon for multiple parents? To follow your proposed philosophy, you'd have to put the icon on the child. But it's not as obvious where it could be placed that makes that clear.
With the current design philosophy, you click the multiple parents icon (to the left of Abraham and Frances) to choose an alternate set of parents to go in that slot, and you click the multiple spouses icon (to the right of Abraham Whiting) to choose an alternate spouse to go in that slot. That's consistent and understandable.
