Research for towns around Wilhelmshaven 1800’s
I’ m having a lot more trouble with German research than I did with Hungarian research. I have relatives that are in a family bible so that has been extremely helpful but I have been trying to find some marriage dates and death dates etc. they lived around the small towns surrounding Wilhelmshaven—Bekhausen, Zetel, Rastede, Driefel. They are all Lutheran. I just don’t know where to start. Where would Lutheran information have been kept?

If you can't find the towns on FamilySearch, a good place to look is Archion.de, This is a major website for Protestant church records in Germany, but it is a fee-based site. https://www.archion.de/de/suche
Another place to look is Meyersgaz.org. This is a gazetteer of all German towns around 1912. There is an Ecclesiastical tab that lists all parishes within a 20-mile radius of the town you're looking for. So if that town had no church of its own, you might find records in a neighboring parish.
