Eighteen hundred fifty six, the 14th of December were married the grocer Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Wrede, from Vistelhövede, district of Rothenberg, Kingdom of Hannover, resident at Pacific and Vanderbilt Av(enue), Br(ooklyn), and Catharine Rebecka Masherie, from the district of Dorum, Kingdom of Hannover.

The spelling of German locations was often a little off in US records. This must be where he was from:

The marriage took place at the Schermerhorn Street Evangelical Church in Brooklyn, New York.
