(Sunday) 21. Novemb(ris) [1613]
E(ltern): Hans Sÿdler, Cathrin Kleinerin
K(ind): Fridli
Z(eugen): Fridli Häberlig, Barbel Sigeristin deß Bruders Frouw.
So Barbara Sigrist is "the brother's wife" - brother of father or mother?
If the father's brother, it would be a son of Johannes (born abt. 1547): I find Sidler, Niklaus, getraut mit Sigrist, Barbara … but no Niklaus as son of Johannes … did he have another son who has been missed so far? Could you check the marriage of 1608 - just in case it contains any useful information.
If the mother's brother, Barbara would be married to a Kleiner - but no suitable entry for either Sigrist, Sigerist nor Siegrist.

On Geneanet I find
Niklaus Sidler- Geboren am 7. Juli 1588 - Ottenbach, Zürich, Switzerland
- Verstorben im Jahre 1624,Alter: 36 Jahre alt
Could you check this date? … would fit into Johannes' children

No Niklaus born 7 July 1588 in Ottenbach. No Niklaus Sidler buried in 1624. I posted the 1608 marriages under Fridis birth.

I may have found the "original" submission of Niklaus 1588 (has been copied several times, as usual): there a Jakob Sidler is mentioned as father - so would be a different line.
Unfortunately the marriage entry 1608 is no further help.
I'll try to contact the submitter to geneanet.

My grandmother hired Billeter to research her ancestors' names in the 1920-30s. They were compiled into a Temple Record. I digitized all her records. I found what you are looking for. See the documents at the bottom of this page:

So the May 1, 1608(!) marriage of Claus Sidler and Barbara Sigrist is not our person?
Looks like it - with different parents (if these are correct)
There are so many errors on Geneanet and forums like that. As you know someone puts something in and it becomes a fact without documentation.
Agreed - but the same holds for familysearch as well, of course ;-). Data should always be checked.

I completely agree with you. People are constantly putting bogus information into trees without any documentation. That is the reason for my website. At least I have control over what is entered. I'm sure many people are well meaning but, alas it makes the trees confusing.
Yes, this Nicholas is our line. However Nickolas is not entered in FS. Billeter must have had a lot of records that we don't have.
I added Nicholas into FS and it populated his children. His FS ID: K2JL-LJ7 Now I can see how we are related. It goes back a long way.

Yes, this Nicholas is our line.
?????
So you found the baptismal entry after all? And who are the parents?

Now you got me completely confused :-(.
On the bottom of the page (link above) is a marriage record of 1608 - incorrectly labelled 1698 - but I had asked for the baptismal record of Niklaus 7 July 1588 - which you said, it didn't exist - but then you added a Billeter copy listing exactly this entry ???
What did you check when I asked about this date (7 July 1588) - the church record or an index?

I checked both. I didn't notice it existed because I didn't think Claus is the same as Niklaus. Sorry, my mistake. I changed the marriage year and posted the birth of Niklaus and the death of Barbara Sigrist. The death of Barbara Sigrist looks interesting. I will put it in to be translated.
I need to make their own page and link it to what we already have. Not sure how to do that, but will do so.
