Ottenbach ZH - Bevölkerungsverzeichnis - 1670 - religious abbreviations
Ottenbach ZH - 1679 - Bevölkerungsverzeichnisse - religious abbreviations
Fourth document.
I just found this list which may be helpful in understanding the abbreviations used in Bevölkerungsverzeichnisses. I posted it on Ludwig's page because he has a few Bevölkerungsverzeichnisses.
If you think what we have done already is enough you can skip this. If this looks good great. Let me know what you think.

WSeelentag Impressive!! 😇 I'm curious if you think this is a better list than the one we used before? I think it is but I bow to your superior expertise.
Yes this was from Ottenbach 1670. The moment I saw it I thought it looked complete and I liked the format the Pastor Hans Ulrich Wiesendanger chose.
This must have taken quite a while to transcribe and translate. Having had some small translations done and having talked to Robert Seal about the process he uses, I know translating a list like this is a formidable task. Thanks! You continue to amaze me!
Let me know what you think. KG

I don't think either is better than the other one - they are different, both with their advantages. Different pastors may also have used some of their own "creations" - so the more of them we see, the better. Have you got copies of other such lists?

No but now I know you are interested, I will look. It is a read blessing to have so many Bevölkerungsverzeichnisses for Ottenbach. I never thought of compiling them for a family member without a death date to get an idea of when they died. In any case I will look for more. Thanks for your diligence in working with them!!😉
