"Blue screen of death"
Looks like the Crowdstrike issue struck one of our computers. Windows will not load and has the blue Recovery screen is showing. I've tried following the Microsoft instructions for resolving the issue, but it's asking for a key before I can proceed. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Anyone and everyone who had automatic updates turned on for the Microsoft Operating system worldwide fell to this Crowdstrike activity.
Please contact the Service Missionaries who maintain the computer systems. We have a locally assigned IT person for the Richland FamilySearch Center now. Prior to that, I did the workstation updates via two different IT service Missionaries online and they remoted in. I don't remember the main number offhand to call.
I learned after the updates that three FamilySearch Centers were beta-sites for the Chrome OS Flex, which may be rolled out to all Centers by year end. This latest episode for the MS-OS-based systems begs the question, "How soon"?

These are the instructions that were sent from the Global Services Department.
1. Boot into Windows Recovery (Select Advanced options or interupt a boot at the manufacture logo three times)
2. Select "Troubleshoot"
3. Select "Advanced Options"
4. Select "Command Prompt"
5. If you are prompted to enter a Bitlocker Recovery Key, contact your Meetinghouse Facilities Manager or the GSD.
6. Type C:
7. Type cd C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike
8. Type del C-00000291*.sys
9. Type exit

yes, I received those instructions, but I’m being asked for the BitLocker Recovery Key as indicated in Step 5. I don’t know what a GSD is so have no idea who that would be. I contacted our tech support person for the stake who couldn’t help me.

The GSD was able to help me get it resolved. For anyone else having difficulties, note that instead of the Crowdstrike file being on the C:\ drive, it was on the D:\ drive. Thought I would pass that along in case anyone else has problems locating the file on the C:\ drive.
