Belp BE - marriage - 1589 - Byland - role of Jons Byland
Translation Request
My ancestor is Hans Byland from Belp. I have looked and found his children birth years from 1589-1595. Unfortunately, no name for the wife on these records. I looked through the marriage records back and forth. I only found this with the name Byland on it.

Top of page on the left. Any ideas or thoughts? I tried to post a picture on here, no luck, so I just sent the link.
Thank you
Loretta

@ljbarizona There is a work around to add images in the Community. It is described here:

As you already know, the Bern State Archive has a version of the church book images. Here is the reference for the source to enable you to view the marriage record online there:
Eherodel, Staatsarchiv Bern, K Belp 2, page 10, year 1588? (see page 9 for year), 1st entry.

Thank you for your support, Debra! I am aware of the copies available from the Bern State Archive - and so is Loretta 😉. An exact reference (at least the year, even better the page number of the record - or even the frame for the State Archive site - http://www.query.sta.be.ch/Dateien/18/D94135.pdf#page=138) would save volunteers in such cases to have to search themselves.
Now for the text:
Volgend die Namen der Ehelüthen so durch mich Jons Byland sind zusammen geben worden.
So Johannes(?) Byland was the pastor - not a groom.
Beware: with some browsers the link to individual pages within a pdf doens't work - in case you'll have to scrollmanually to pdf-page 148.

@WSeelentag, if I understand correctly, you and Loretta had already found the record image in the Bern State Archive before I posted my comment with the reference for the source. Is that right?

"if I understand correctly, you and Loretta had already found the record image …"
No - I was hoping Loretta was going to give us a more detailed reference - so, thank you for your help!
