Seeking information on birth/baptism record on James Farrell, Moydow, County Longford
Hello,
I'm conducting research on my great-grandfather, James Farrell, and his family. I'm dealing with some uncertainties because I'm unsure of his year of birth and when he arrived in US.
US Census records vary on his DOB, but it seems to have occurred in the timeframe of 1831-1833. I believed he arrived in the US in New York sometime around 1852-3, lived in Brooklyn for a short period before moving to Hartford, CT and then eventually Ottawa, Illinois. A couple of his siblings also ended up in Ottawa, Elizabeth and Thomas. Elizabeth, married John Murphy and they lived in Ottawa. She was born on 7 Dec 1829 in Moydow. I did come across a baptismal record for a Elizabeth Farrell, with a date of 7 Dec 1829. She was born to John Farrell and Bridget Ross. Of note, she had a twin, Catherine. I can't say with certainty that the Elizabeth in the baptismal record are Jame's sister are one in the same. In doing further search in the parish records, I came across a number of other children born to this couple—Thomas born 1825, Mary b. 1825, Bridget b. 1827 and Bernard b. 1831, but no James.
I'm sorry for the long post. I'm hoping that it will provide information that might be helpful. If you have any suggestions for me, I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks for your time. I'm happy to answer or try to provide whatever other information I can.

Hello @William Farrell_1
To clarify - Have you found records in the US with names of parents of any the siblings who settled in Illinois? What records do you have confirming that they are siblings?
I don't mean to sound as if I doubt your research, I'm just trying to understand what information you have and to get an idea of where I may need to look to help.
Look forward to hearing from you and trying to help.

Áine,
Thank you for the question.
— I have not found records in the US which name the parents of any the siblings who settled in Illinois. That would've made my research so much easier but sadly I haven't come across that information yet.
— Much of my information about sibling relationships came from my aunt (now deceased) who had a remarkable memory and lived to be 105. I don't have any documentation that specifically ties Thomas, Elizabeth and James together but I
I"m sorry I can't be more helpful. Let me do some more digging.
thanks,
William
