Font and Icons are too large causing too much scrolling - the colors: oh, my!
I think a couple of others have tried to say what I also would like to say and it appears to me that their thoughts have been completely disregarded, that no matter what, very soon, we will be stuck with the overly-large, very unattractive screen in which to work while using the Source Linker, which it the very best feature on FamilySearch.
Please look at the size comparison from what we used to be able to use and what will now be forced to use. To me, this is a significant difference in what used to be able to fit on my screen. The first rules of user interface design is to place me, the user, in control and make it comfortable for me to interact with the product. Fact: Excessive scrolling reduces productivity. Personal fact: Excessive scrolling reduces by enjoyment of what I am trying to accomplish.
UI design also calls for interfaces that are consistent. Is the line spacing this large in other parts of the system? Is the background tan-ish color used anywhere else in the system. I would like to me kind in my comments, but the color really is hideous. The large icons are also off-putting. And, the purple ... is it used anywhere else in the system? Is it approved by the Brethren? This whole new page just seems so inconsistent with the rest of the FamilySearch pages in line spacing, bolded fonts, and coloring. I just don't get it. The colors look like someone threw a dart at a color chart and said, "That's it." Has anyone even tried to look at a color wheel?
Now I have to go find the group that talks about all the extra steps it is now taking to tag a memory. I really don't know what is happening to FamilySearch but somewhere along the line someone is not sticking to the high standards that I have come to love and expect from the developers.

Hi Amanda, thank you for your feedback. We know color has been an issue for many as we have rolled out the new Source Linker experience. Over the next several months, we on the FamilySearch Source Linker team will continue to iterate on concepts that will help to make the overall experience better. One of the challenges we are tackling right now is our use of color. We have been coming up with some concepts on how to improve our color use and I have created a discussion post to receive feedback. We encourage you to go take a look at that post on the board of this group and let us know if we are getting closer to solving some of the issues you have mentioned above. Thank you for your patience and feedback.
