Translation request - Moussey Moselle birth record
I would deeply appreciate translation assistance on this birth 1861 civil record from Moussey / Moselle.
While I was expecting a birth name of Emil, the date of birth and middle name (Joseph) match as well as the mother, Virginie Vanier, her parents, Gabriel Vanier and Marguerite Blaise, and father, Gilbert Guerre (that I’m presuming died prior to the child’s birth).
I’d like to know:
1. There is an Adelphine Guerre mentioned. What role does she have in this document and does it mention what relation she is to the deceased?
2. Confirmation that the document has Gilbert as deceased as well as the date and any possible location, since I can’t locate him in the Moussey records for deceased.
3. Best guess on the first name of the infant. It looks like it might be an abbreviation.
4. Anything else of interest.
Thank you!

Adelphine Guerre (26) married to Jean Christophe Pike (farmer) both from Moussey seems to be the ones that are reporting this birth. They are reporting this at 11am on the 9th of November. (She may the midwife or perhaps the sister-in-law to Virginie.)
Virginie Vanier (26 years old with no profession living in Moussey) is the daughter of Gabriel Vanier and Marguerite Blaise (both deceased). She is the widow of Gilbert Guerre who died the 18th of January 1859.
The child was born on this day and presented to the officials with the surname of Vanier and the given names of Lion-Joseph (the note on the side margin says that he is an illegitimate child and the father is unknown).
The witnesses are Francois Charpentier (51 years old and a farmer) and Jean Baptiste About (45 years old and a Instituteur or teacher) and both are friends of Virginie.

David,
I appreciate you taking the time to give me insight into this record!
Based upon Gilbert’s date of death, I guess this paternal line may be ending here …..
