Herzenhausen "Zürcher Gebiedts" - 1702 - Krauß - location?
In a Lutheran marriage record from Bad Dürkheim (Germany) dated 14 Nov 1702, the groom's father is identified as "burgers u. Leinweber Handwercks, von Herzenhausen aus der Schweitz Zürcher Gebiedts"
I'm having a hard time finding Herzenhausen in Switzerland. Did I read the location correctly? Can anyone help me with identifying a possible location in Switzerland?
There are two Herzhausen in Hesse, Germany. However, they are both north of Frankfurt, while (Bad) Dürkheim was located in the Bavarian Palatinate, a bit south of Frankfurt.

Unfortunately I cannot answer your question, i.e. I read Herzenhausen as well but don't find it. Let me still make two comments:
"Zürcher Gebiedts" at the time is more than todays canton Zürich: Zürich also ruled other regions in what today belongs to neighbouring cantons.
Kraus / Krauss is not really a long established name in Switzerland - if you check the Register of Swiss Surnames, most citizenships were immigrants from Germany during the 19th century. The fact that no older Swiss citizens of this name are listed there (data compiled in 1962) does not exclude that there were families with this name in earlier centuries: they could have just died out - or didn't acquire citizenship. If you check the Zürich Marriage Register (https://www.archives-quickaccess.ch/search/stazh/edb) you'll find a few Kraus (or Krauser), but the majority from Germany. This even includes a Michael - but getting married in 1639, the gap to a son getting married in 1702 is likely too large.

I had previously checked the Register of Swiss Surnames and noted the lack of an old established Kraus surname. I appreciate you listing possible circumstances for the absence, instead of just assuming they weren't there earlier.
Just yesterday I remembered about the Zurich marriage index and came to the same conclusion you did.
