Needing Assistance with a Record
Hello,
I am looking at a death record for Magdalena Schlezinger, wife of Joannis Schlezinger. It is the next to last record on the left-hand page:
She gave birth to a child on the same day. The Latin word for childbirth is lucina. Is that the word that I see in the record. The child seems to have survived, at least for the immediate future.
I have found two subsequent birth records where Joannis is the father and Magdalena is the mother, but I cannot find another marriage record for Jan. He may have re-married outside the parish.
Thank you and have a good day.
Sincerely,
Stephen

The child did pass eight months after he was born.

I read that word as "lapicida", which is most likely the husband's occupation (stoner or stonemason).

I have seen the word several times since posting - lapicida? In fact, it is written in the death record of Joannes Schlezinger, which happened approximately 3 years later.
