Looking for a connection of Phillip GREGORY to Minnie Fidelia GREGORY or Martha Ellen LAMBERT
I'm looking to get any vital information or a connection on Phillip GREGORY, the father of Minnie Fidelia GREGORY, born 7 March 1864, Lake City, Modoc, California, United States. Minnie's mother is, Martha Ellen LAMBERT, born 01 Oct 1849, Lafayette, Tippecanoe, Indiana, United States. Minnie was raised by her step-father, David JONES.
The family story is that my mother was named after the Gregory family because they were wealthy, and my grandfather thought that if they named my mother "Gregory Ann" that they would be in good favor and perhaps receive some bit of an inheritance. Thus my mother went through life with that as her first name, but earned nothing for it. I also recall a story which they speculated about LAMBERT and GREGORY being in a lumber camp. I was too young to understand, and may be mixing memories up, but it seemed a little sordid, and sounded like speculation.
I don't know if M. Ellen LAMBERT was ever married to GREGORY or not. Nor do I have record of where she lived between the time she was born to the birth of Minnie. There is nothing more that I can find about him, and at one point, all my mother had in her genealogical research was his last name. I recently found one of her old records where she put down his first name as Phillip. She left no clues that I could find of any other research she may have found on him, such as a location. I may be grasping at straws, but if anyone has any ideas that could lead me in the right direction, please contact me.

Have you tried looking at the California Wiki (https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/California,_United_States_Genealogy)? Their are a lot of resources there that may help with your research to find Phillip Gregory.

I found Minnie Fidelia Clark (RIN 934P-N3J) md to Samuel Charles Wallis in familysearch. But I find nothing on Phillip Gregory KHFK-15P. You might try Ancestry.com. The person who entered the information in FS is the the cousin once removed.
