Seeking help with records for my 2x great grandmother, Ivey Belle Riley ID# LZBT-MSK.
My 2x great grandmother, Ivey Belle Riley, was an Indigenous American. she was from the Choctaw tribe of Oklahoma. She was born 20 Nov 1890 & died 27 Aug 1932. She first married my great grandfather, Joseph Sylvester Herzig (aka Joe Herzig).
I have been unable to locate any official tribal records for her. Their marriage license says Joe Herzig of Blaine in the Indian Territory aged 42 years & Miss Ivry Wriley (Riley) of Melton in Indian Territory aged 17. Was sealed on 14 day of May 1907.
My great grandfather lived his whole life in Arkansas. Ivey shows up on the 1910 Census with him and their children. He was not very nice to her and by 1920 Census she is back in Oklahoma (without her children) with her mother per the 1920 OK Census (Diamond, Haskell County), Calley Adams and her little brother, Henry A. Adams.
I am unable to locate with sources Ivey's father or grandparents as well.
Any information will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.

@PatriciaSprague8 Am I correct in assuming Ivey's mother's maiden name was Riley and that she was born before her mother married Mr. Adams?
After viewing the marriage record in sources for Ivey, I think the place she was living at the time of her marriage was Milton, not Melton:
Knowing where she was in 1907, gives you a place to look for other records. There is a 1900 Indian Territory Census which I would check for surnames Riley or Adams. Milton is located in Township 8 North Range 23 East. T 8N R 23E would be in enumeration district #86, according to this table:
Census for district 86 can be found on FamilySearch, film #4119061. It is indexed.
To see what tribal records FamilySearch has for Choctaw Nation search the FamilySearch catalog with keywords (not place name) Choctaw Oklahoma. You may need to add other words to narrow down the results.
If you have or can get access to Newspapers.com, there are some articles about Joseph Herzig. He moved to Red River county Texas in March of 1914. That may have been when Ivy went back to Oklahoma. He filed for divorce in July of 1920 on grounds of desertion and the decree was granted in December 1920. I cannot provide images since it is a pay site.
Hope this helps. If you have more questions, just ask.
