Bydgoszcz/Bromberg Region Help
Good evening,
There are records I've been trying to locate on and off for years in Bromberg, Prussia but just found more information recently. I'm going to list these down below in case anyone on here comes across them. It's a lot, but anything will be appreciated!
Ursula Jankowski baptism - the date I have is Oct 17, 1848 likely in/near the Strelno and Inowroclaw area; she might've been born in 1846-47 instead. Possible sister named Agnes.
Joannes Wroblewski and Marcianna/Marianna Dutkowna marriage - first known child was born in 1837 and another baptized later at the Polanowice Parish.
+ their immigration record in 1872-74 to America, could be under the surname Sperling.
Catharina Wroblewski baptism - on or close to Nov 5, 1837 (daughter of Joannes and Marcianna)
+ Marriage to Joseph Huabear(?) in 1857 (his death on Dec 10, 1863)
+ 2nd marriage to Frank Schultz on Feb 18, 1864, then their immigration 1872-74.
Thank you so much!
Emilia

Emilia,
Have you searched for this family in ancestry.com? There are a number of pictures, dates, sources. Unfortunately, many records cannot be traced, as they must have been destroyed during the wars. Maybe there are duplicate copies in Diocese Archives.

I do have a lot of records of them in America, a couple In Pennsylvania and many in Nebraska! I’ve slowly been going through Polish parish records, but I’m more experienced with other countries (with the exception of Silesia). Hopefully some of these polish records still exist; I know that Joseph’s army records are likely long gone. :)

Hi,
The amazing Poznan Project is a great help in this search.
I think that Ursula might be the daughter of Vincentius Jankowski and Lucia Grajec/Grajkowska. Her birth (Oct 21, 1845) is documented in the catholic church book of Wenecja. The family lived at Godawy at the time but the father Vincenz passed away at Ludzisk in 1870. A sister Agnes gets married in 1874 near Dąbrowa Biskupia, other siblings get married even closer to Polanowice.
The first marriage of Catharina Wroblewsky is, I think, also in the poznan project (husband: Joseph Chybiorowicz, Polanowice no. 10/1857). The problem is the mother's name which I think is not correct in Joseph Wroblewsky's birth entry. The mother's name in Catherine's marriage entry is Marianna Grabkowna. There should be more of the couple's children in the Polanowice church books.
I will try and send some links in a seperate comment.
Regards, Christine

Hope these links work.
Concerning the second marriage of Catharina Wroblewski: according to the marriage certificate her first husband was from Mirosławice, parish of Kościeszki - and I cannot find any church books from Kościeszki.
