Marriage Record Search: Joseph Wroblewski and Ursula Jankowska
Hello,
I'm currently trying to get past a brick wall on my family tree with my g-g-grandparents. I would greatly appreciate help locating a marriage record for Joseph Wroblewski and Ursula Jankowska, likely in the Bydgoszcz region. Here is everything I know:
-Possibly married on 11 Nov 1868, give or take.
-Belonged to the Strzelce Catholic parish as of 1869-1872.
-Joseph was born in Gizewo (Polanowice Catholic parish) to Joannes and Marianna; later changed his surname to Sperling (if the correct man).
Please ask me any further questions if needed. Any help is appreciated!
Emilia
Edit: An emigration/immigration record from the 1870s would work as well.

Hi,
I think this should be the passenger list containing the family.
Hopefully that will help.

Sorry, the links does not seem to work. The family arrived on May 20th, 1873 at Boston. The mother’s name is transcribed as “Ursula Wrolchewski”

Hi again,
I will experiment a little with the links and see if I can get you a link that works.
Also, I found a marriage entry that might be the one you are looking for. But the church book is damaged and the entry is not complete. It is in the church book from Ludzisko (no. 27/1868) and contains the last names "Wroblewski" and "...nkowska". It is most likely from November or December because the page before has marriages up to the end of October and the age 22 of bride and groom fits with the passenger list. Ludzisko is approx. 12 miles north-west of Polanowice.

Here is another try with the link to the passenger list for Boston:
Ancestry has the entry in the "Hamburger Passenger Lists" but you might already know that?

The link gets mangled when it has its own line. If you see the link
you can replace the '%3A' with a ':' to get back to https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KGKP-67C.

Thank you very much for your help! I've never seen their immigration record before - I had May 10, 1872 from Joseph's obituary but assumed it was incorrect after years of searching. And I just found out about the surname change a week ago! I'll have to look more into the marriage record, but it seems likely too.
Happy holidays (this has been my favorite present),
Emilia

You're welcome!
If the marriage record might be correct, hopefully you might find Ursula's family in or around Ludzisk.
What an exciting discovery with the name change!
Happy New Year,
Christine

I found the following birth record in Polanowice Parish. You may try it at home or in your family search center in your neighborhood. It was indexed with slightly altered spelling. You may also try to find it in familysearch.org - Search - Images
