Parris and proud prior to 1861 research help please.
Hi there.
Trying to link back to Lisbon Portugal.
We have an ancestor who came to NZ. The First official record we have is on 16th July 1861.
His age is given as 21. Unfortunately his age changes in later documents and does not track as it should. Even his naturalization information from him doesn't match up.
He does provide some information but we have had no luck with it.
He gives his father's name as Gorely Joseph Parris - Farmer
Mother as Mary Parris ( Maiden name ) Proud
He lists on another document Mary Jane Parris but his maiden name is Everson. which happens to be the surname of his former wife. He married 3 times. and nothing matches up.
He mentions a whaling ship " James Murray " which I believe is " James Maury "
So in summary - prior to 1861 - Lisbon Portugal. looking for Gorely Joseph Parris Mary Jane proud. His name as we have it started out as Innes Parris which changed to Ennis Parris in later years. I have done a DNA test. any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Justin Parris
